The concept
Model of the European Union
The Model European Union (MEU) is a simulation of the EU decision-making process. Participants replicate the work of the European institutions in the European Parliament, discussing two controversial, real-life legislative proposals drafted by the European Commission. While Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) and ministers of the EU Council simulate the ordinary legislative procedure, lobbyists try to influence the two bodies and journalists report on the development of ongoing discussions.

A unique learning experience
Participating in this Model of the EU will not only help you gain a better understanding of the decision-making process of the European Union, but will also challenge you in multiple ways. A unique opportunity to meet young people from all over Europe during three intense days in the enchanting city of Brussels.
Trust the process
Legislative procedures can get confusing, specially the Ordinary Legislative Procedure pursued in the EU. For that reason, we have tailored a Modified Legislative Procedure (based on other Models of the European Union) that simplifies the process but keeping the most important bits. Therefore, you will be able to experience the key-elements behind decision-making in the European Parliament in a three-day dynamic capsule.

Your time is valuable
As a proof of your commitment, time and involvement, you will get a Youthpass certificate at the end of the Model. To know more about this recognition tool powered by the European Commission, you can check their official website!
